Op vrijdag 15 en zaterdag 16 september 2017 vindt het jaarlijkse symposium van het NGE (Nederlands Genootschap voor Esthetica) plaats in de Universiteitsbibliotheek van Amsterdam. Bij die gelegenheid zal aandacht worden besteed aan het afscheid van dr. Frans van Peperstraten. Hij zal een bijdrage leveren onder de titel ‘Maken, ontvangen, verschillen. Esthetica en politiek’. Enkele coreferenten zullen daarop aansluiten.
Met deze call for papers nodigen we graag anderen uit om ook een bijdrage aan het symposium te leveren. Voor elke bijdrage is een half uur beschikbaar, 20 minuten voor de presentatie en 10 minuten voor vragen en discussie. Alle bijdragen op het terrein van de esthetica zijn welkom; het staat de sprekers vrij om al dan niet aan te sluiten bij het thema van de keynote lecture van Frans van Peperstraten. Papers kunnen naar keuze in het Engels of in het Nederlands worden gepresenteerd.
Stuur voor 15 juni 2017 een abstract van ± 500 woorden aan Albert van der Schoot [A.vanderSchoot@uva.nl].
Het definitieve programma wordt begin juli bekendgemaakt.
De kosten voor deelname aan het symposium bedragen
– voor leden van het NGE: gratis toegang
– voor niet-leden: € 50 (inclusief lidmaatschap NGE t/m 2018)
– voor studenten: € 20 (inclusief lidmaatschap NGE t/m 2018)
Aanmelden voor het symposium geschiedt door overmaking van het betreffende bedrag op rekening NL66INGB0006395303 t.n.v. het Ned. Genootschap voor Esthetica, onder vermelding van ‘deelname symposium 2017’. Bestaande leden (die dus geen bedrag hoeven over te maken) wordt verzocht een mailtje te sturen naar penningmeester@nge.nl met in de subjectregel ‘deelname symposium 2017’.
Engelstalige papers kunnen (onafhankelijk van het symposium) ook ter beoordeling worden voorgelegd voor publicatie in het online open access tijdschrift van het NGE: Aesthetic Investigations – zie daarvoor http://www.aestheticinvestigations.eu.

NGE Symposium 15-16 September 2017, Amsterdam
On Friday 15 and Saturday 16 September, the yearly symposium of the NGE (Dutch Association for Aesthetics) will take place in the Amsterdam University Library. A focal point will be the retirement of dr. Frans van Peperstraten. He will deliver a lecture entitled ‘Making, receiving, differing. Aesthetics and Politics.’ Three speakers will comment on his lecture.
With this call for papers, you are invited to contribute to the symposium. For each contribution, half an hour is available (20 min. presentation, 10 min. discussion). All papers in the field of aesthetics are welcome; the papers may or may not be linked to the theme of Frans van Peperstraten’s keynote lecture. Papers may be presented in English or in Dutch.
Send an abstract of approx. 500 words to Albert van der Schoot [A.vanderSchoot@uva.nl], before June 15, 2017.
The final programme will be annnounced at the beginning of July.
Participation fee for the symposium:
– NGE members: free admittance
– Non-members: € 50 (including NGE membership through 2018)
– Students: € 20 (including NGE membership through 2018)

Current members in good standing (who do not need to transfer a participation fee) are requested to send an e-mail to penningmeester@nge.nl, with the subject line ‘participation symposium 2017’.
