‘De 88 andere mogelijkheden’
Vrijdag 4 februari 2011 van 16.00 tot 18.00 uur is er in DeFKa Campis, Venestraat 88 een ontmoeting voor en door kunstenaars en geïnteresseerden. Het idee is kunstenaars en andere disciplines in een informele sfeer de gelegenheid te geven voor ontmoeting en uitwisseling.
Als start worden twee kunstenaars uitgenodigd om kort iets te vertellen over hun / zijn/haar werk. In deze eerste aflevering zijn dat Geert Schaap over eigen werk en ateliers in Friesland. Daarnaast komt Marije Wijma ons inlichten over broeiplekken en Kunstbende.
‘Slow Art Talk’
Maandag 7 februari van 16.00 tot 18.00 uur wordt er in DeFKa weer een Slow Art Talk gehouden, met onder meer Margo Slomp, docent Kunsttheorie. Deze Talk vindt plaats mede naar aanleiding van de tentoonstelling ‘Frank Mohr Instituut presents’, die nog t/m 12 februari in DeFKa te zien is.
Thema / Subject: Autonomy and Engagement. In recent debates concerning art production and art the term engaged autonomy is used quite frequently. Underlying this combining of the two terms, formerly often perceived of as irreconcilable, is the apparent need to define or at least elaborate on the position of the artist in contemporary society. If (aesthetic) autonomy is no longer a sustainable concept and the actual political influence of artistic activities questioned, what does the merging or combination of the two concepts offer us in terms of positioning the art(ist)?
